Greetings Friends~
I know the room is starting to get crowded but...please move down a little and make room for our newest member Elizabeth. We welcome you on our journey.
What you see here is one big old catfish that has bitten off more than he can handle by swallowing this basketball. I think that this is kind of like my life. I see some enticing object (usually any type of potato product, especially those wrapped in shiny aluminum foil) and the next thing I know, I've taken the bait.
Many things can become that basketball. Seems like a great idea at the time but now I have to live with the consequences. Do you ever feel that way? I sure do. I can't seem to accomplish a task because there is something holding me back.
What is the solution? Here's what I think must happen. I've got to ask for help. I have to swim my tush over to the closest person I feel comfortable with and ask for help. Ask for some assistance. Ask for some compassion.
I may be surprised about the response I get. I might find out that this person is more than willing to assist me in any way they can. It feels unbelievably good to be able to take a small step and if this particular step required some help, so what! Nothing in the rule book ever said that I couldn't get somebody to help me along in my journey.
When we join together to support each other, miraculous things can happen.
One worthwhile task carried to a successful conclusion is worth half-a-hundred half-finished tasks. – Malcolm S. Forbes, 1917-1990, American Publisher

One of the goals I made 2 years ago was to eat breakfast every day. I eat oatmeal alot and I hate oatmeal, but I do it because it's good for me and it sticks with me. When I reminded Chip of this today he said he hated taking the stairs up to our floor everyday, but he does it because it's good for him and it will stick with him. Here's to all the things we hate that are good for us. May they stick with us all.
Well said. Whatever doesn't kill me will certainly make me stronger. But all bets are off on the stair deal if we ever move to the 7th floor!
