Anything Is Possible

Greetings Friends~

Last night was the finale of Biggest Loser. I hope that you took the time to watch because it was...hmmm, hard to come up with the right adjective to describe the high level of success that the contestants reached... suffice to say that their results are phenomenal.

I am going to print both of these pictures and mount them on my wall at work, right behind my computer. That way, I will be constantly reminded of what is possible if I continue to work at it.

There has been a significant amount of criticism concerning this season. People complain that Bob and Jillian are too abusive. A portion of the viewers remark that the show has become to commercialized.

My opinion about Bob and Jillian is this. Actions speak louder than words. Look at the overwhelming amount of weight that the contestants lost. The trainers play a major part in that, and while viewers may not approve of these tactics, clearly those competing do. Even with all the yelling, swearing and screaming, by the end of the season, every one of the contestants LOVE the trainers. No exceptions.

As far as all the "commercials" and brand name pitches for things such as Brita water filters, Jennie-O turkey products, Extra gum, etc., I say, "so what." They usually keep these very short.

We watched them talk about how we can reduce the amount of plastic bottles going to the landfill by purchasing a Brita filter. Mrs B and I talked that over, thought it was a valid point, so we spent $30 at Costco for a pitcher. Love it!

I am now trying to work ground turkey into my diet, substituting this for ground beef wherever possible. The Mexican Lasagna I made last week using it turned out great. Jennie-O turkey? Love it!

We don't rush out to buy everything we see on the show. I do appreciate the occasional plug for a product because it reminds me that there are alternatives or new fangeled contraptions...heck, those Zip and Steam bags work great.

My only complaint is that the show is not aired 52 weeks a year.

For the other Biggest Loser junkies out there, here is a link to 2009 BL pictures.

Well I loved watching the Biggest Loser. I already told Chip that he reminds me of the winner, Danny. I'm not talking about the before pictures. I am talking about the determination and the struggles. Danny strained against his bad knees and hips when he labored through the BL marathon. I know that when Chip has lost half his weight (or more) like Danny that he will cry tears of joy (as will I.) By the way, I saw Mrs. B today. She is looking FANTASTIC!
