Week 4 Results -- Important Notice Below -- Gym Bag Shopping This Weekend!

Greetings Friends~

Here are the results for Week 4.

Congrats to Elizabeth for being this week's Biggest Loser, kudos to all of this week's contestants that lost weight and are back on track, AND kudos to Rebecca for being the winner of the Bragging Rights!

Here are the results after the first month of Part II. Bear in mind that these weights are personal weigh in results, as reported by the member on their own scale, and are not the "official" progress of how people are doing FOR THE MONEY.

Big CHEERS to those of us that posted a loss in the first month! I know that it was hard to do since we had Christmas and New Years to contend with, but we managed. Rebecca is still the front runner in Part II. Good job (again) Sister. Your progress and results are a motivation for me. You are the person that I am chasing when I am on the elliptical, on the treadmill, and in the pool. Thanks for being an example of what can be done if we put our minds and souls into it!

This week has been rough for me. Work has been busy and I suppose, I got a little comfortable with the slow pace of December. That relaxed atmosphere is long gone. In fact, it is super hectic right now and the cheese people seem to be winning the battle.

I skipped my workout tonight because I needed to get this posted. I am not happy, but that's life. From now on, I will make sure that I stick to my policy writing each post the day before. My plan is to get up early so that I can now post each day's entry in the morning before work. This will allow me to workout and not be (typically) obsessing about rushing home to publish.

On to better things. I AM AT THE 50 LB MARK which means that I have achieved a reward...my new gym bag. I can not tell you how hard it has been to wait. But I did wait, and I did lose 50 lbs, and so now I will be going shopping. Rest assured that next week on a post, you will be bored senseless with remarks and pictures about the new bag.

I really think that it is important to set realistic goal and rewards. My next goal and reward will be at the 75 pound mark. I will then weigh 259. I have not figured out what my reward is yet. I want to give that some thought. I want to make it REWARDING and important. Maybe that Amish hat that Chet has been coveting. I will keep you posted.

Inspiration of the Day

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. - Herm Albright, 1876-1944

Recipe of the Day

Lately, I have been eating less beef and more poultry and fish. Please excuse the abundance of chicken recipes. This does appeal to me because of the ricotta cheese and herbs. Bon Appetite`.

Link of the Day

Power Foods

After you have read this, don't forget that Black River Blues blueberries are my berry of choice. It is never to late to plan for later in the year. They have U-pick and farm sales...and my cute, witty, sister Rebecca sells their bounty at the Olympia Farmers Market. Plan a day of berry picking at there farm in Rochester in July or August. Blueberries freeze well ,and you will feel much better about what you are eating because you actually harvested it from a farm that you visited.

Important Notice

No offense intended Travelers, but starting next week, if you do not get your weight to me by 5 pm ON MONDAY, then you will be posting a zero for the previous week. No exceptions. I won't bore you with how much time this is taking...suffice to say that Monday's are my only day off from the gym and I need write (not post) the results on Monday night for Tuesday publication.

Also, (please excuse Chet), I'm not the results GOD here, so from here on out, I will not be contacting each of you to remind you when your weight is due. In case you missed it, your weight is NOW due by...repeat after me...5 pm on Mondays.

No weight reported...no loss reported.

I hope that each of you understand how important it is to do the little things on this journey. Act like making your lunch ahead of time is like fastening your seat belt. Most accidents happen within 10 miles of home. Most weight gain or gorging happens within 10 miles of home...Get it?

If you lost weight this week, use that feeling of satisfaction to lose more. If you did not lose weight this week, use that envy to lose. Little steps complete a long journey if we do it One Step at a Time.

Happy Trails!

I can't tell you all how proud I am of my partner, my inspiration. If it weren't for him, I would probably still be a couch potato. Thank you for putting a fire under my butt. You are awesome. Congrats to all the "losers" this week. I am proud to be part of this group.

I must also thank Chip for being the voice in my head as I decided to hit the gym tonight. I haven't been to the gym in about 4 months, and Chip gave me a pep talk last night .. it went something like this, "If you don't get your ass to the *%$*^ gym, I'm coming over and making you go late at night!" The thing that really got me though was when he said, "You don't have to break a sweat, you don't even have to get on a treadmill! Just walk in the damned door!" I drove around the gym parking lot this evening after work, and it was full, so I had a great excuse to go home. I left .. made it one block and turned around. I was going to walk in that door if it killed me! I'm going again tomorrow!

Thanks for the comments Poppits. It is a mile stone for me but I have to say that it was not as hard as I built it up to be. Guess most of that was just crap in my head. Way to go Kristin on learning to post AND Lee (Urulu), I must say that I have that same feeling that I had when I dropped the kids off for their first day of kindergarten...woohoo...I am so proud of you for going. Keep it up...and to the rest, let Lee be an inspiration for YOU to go workout.
