Week 5 Results Are Now In

Greetings Friends~

Here are the results for Week 5, Part 2.

Kudos to Elizabeth who is this week's Biggest Loser. For all of you that lost weight this week, here is a big golf clap. If you didn't lose anything, or neglected to report your loss by 5 pm on Monday, this is a new week so let's get in the groove. I also would like to point out that Rebecca is over the 20% mark. That is very impressive and inspirational.

I find that life often interferes with me achieving my weight loss goals and, to tell you the truth, this irritates the crap out of me. Or maybe it is me that interferes. I don't know.

On Saturday, I decided to go fishing which I knew would end up lasting so long that I wouldn't get a workout in. That is what happened. I didn't get home until 5:30 and by then the thought of working out didn't appeal to me much. So, did the fishing interfere or was it just being tired so I made excuses?

Sunday we worked outside in the rain and cold pulling scotch broom with the tractor. After that I had to shower off the mud so I could go to the movies with Mrs B. So, was it the garden work and/or the movie that interfered?

Monday the power was off until noon, I needed to drop the crash-mobile off at the body shop, go to the post office, get coffee, do grocery shopping and get a haircut. What interfered?

That's my dilemma. So many things going on, so much to do, so little time. And, weight loss and workouts on top of that? I get overwhelmed and frustrated because I want to lose weight, and get in shape, but I also would like to accomplish other things, major things, or so they seem. Like weeding the fricken flower beds. That kind of thing.

If this sounds like a whine-fest, I apologize. Hey, if I am frustrated, imagine how people that have kids feel. They have the added activities that children bring, like birthday parties and sports.

I'm not complaining but I am frustrated. Surely I am not the only one out there that feels like there are never enough hours in a day.

I need to ponder on ways to multi-task or come up with a system to streamline so that I can accomplish more in less time. If you have some ideas or tips for me, please post a comment. It might help me (and others).

Chip darling. Give yourself a break! You didn't miss out on workouts because you simply didn't want to get off the couch. That would have probably been the old you. You are getting active and busy .. isn't that one of our goals? On the days you don't make it to the gym, do something else. Do you have Comcast? There is a fitness on demand piece that has some pretty fun workouts you can do for 20 minutes at home in front of the TV. Be nice to yourself :)

I got my NutriSystem delivery on Monday evening, so yesterday was the day to get going. I was really good at work, eating all the right things. I made it to the gym last night after work. Then I got home ... I was fine for dinner. Had a lovely little (Gerber Juniors sized) meal, and a salad. I should have gone to bed agt a decent hour .. as 1AM rolled around I got hungry. I found two hot dogs and some pastry in my fridge and I started a middle of the night pigs in a blanket festival! And then I called in sick to work today because I was up all night with indigestion! Now it's 3:15PM and I haven't eaten anything, slept until 2:30PM and wondering what to do with the rest of my day. I'm kinda hungry!

First of all, Lee, I am glad to have you as part of this team. You are a truth teller like Chip. I hope your trials help you and others. Second, congrats to those of you who lost this week! Yea! And a double yea to Rebecca. You are a weight loss queen. Last, I know that part of the problem with healthy living is time management. I am a mom and I work full time. One thing that I have learned is to remember to think of what is good for me. I ask myself "what do I need?" You don't need to be selfish but you also don't need to be self-less. Sometimes kids have to feed themselves. Sometimes you have to come late to a social function so you can work out. Sometimes you have to skip a work out to spend time with your spouse. It's all about moderation, just like everything else. Now if you can find the time to think about moderation.....good luck...
