Holy Pigout, Batman

Greetings Friends~

I will keep this short because I am sick with a cold...my node ith runnin'...and my trout herts...

Thanksgiving week...am I the only one terrified of what this week will bring? If you are REALLY trying to stay on track to lose weight each week, I wager you are. For others, this just may be a dream come true. Thanksgiving, the best meal of the year.

I usually cook, because I love doing so. When the meal finally comes together and it is time to eat, I am so tired that I am lucky to finish one plate. The rest of the afternoon is a tryptophan blur. It's all I can do to stay awake long enough to watch some TV, dish up leftovers for all the guests to take home and then wish them well on their journey.

What time is it Boys and Girls? It's lay on the couch and take a nap time! When I wake up from a short nap at 7pm or so, then the real meal begins. I manipulate Mrs B into hauling ALL the food back in from the garage refrigerator so I can start the real meal...and this goes on clear till Sunday. The pattern is...EAT...NAP...EAT...WATCH TV...EAT...NAP... you get the picture.

I bet I'm not the only closet eater here. You know who you are. Self conscious about people watching the FAT guy or girl eating so we wait until they are gone.

How will I deal with that this year? Tune in tomorrow. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

Recipe of the Day

Here is the recipe that I have used for a very long time. This will make your turkey moist and VERY flavorful. I hope you give it a try.

Shopping Tips

Fred Meyer has the following items on sale; milk or orange juice 1/2 gal. 4 for $5, Knudsen Sparkling apple cider 4 for $5, FM frozen vegetables assorted varieties 12 oz for $1 each, and extra large eggs for $.99 dozen.

I'm heading to bed so I can try and shake this cold. I want to make it to work tomorrow so J. doesn't have to shoulder the burden. Wish me luck.

Happy Trials!

I will be thinking of all of your journey members on Thanksgiving. I'll be sending out any extra will power to you via brain waves. Hey it could work....seriously I think a battle plan is in order. Think about what you really want to eat on Thursday. Maybe it's the olives or the turkey or the pie or the various starchy goodness. Plan your meal, remember moderation and STICK TO YOUR GUNS SISTER. You have a couple days to figure it out. (On a non-related subject, don't you think Chip and Bruce look great in those tights and capes?)

Guess we'll see who reads my comment since my "addition" of a letter has made my comment a bit inappropriate except for "gutter" brained people. Chip, my friend, ENJOY.
