Greetings Friends~
Here are the results for Week 8. Kudos to Lee for being this week's Biggest Loser. I guess doing Zoomba and having Stan gone hunting is worthwhile.
Here are the group results showing progress for the last two months. Kudos to Rebecca who has now passed me for the title of Biggest Loser overall. Way to go! Exercising with your Mom must be helping.
The group as a whole has lost 181 pounds which equals 4.7 %. This means we have lost a whole healthy person! Now, lets start working on losing another person or two from our torsos.
Today I am going to write about things that we all know concerning dieting. I am doing this because I need a little refresher. Right about this point I can usually predict that my motivation is wavering so I am going to attempt to recharge my personal inspiration.
- I should drink at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day, at a minimum.
- I should eat a healthy breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner and an evening snack if needed.
- I should exercise for 30 minutes, at a minimum, several times a week. The activity or exercise that I get should be different from day to day otherwise my body gets lazy.
- I should restrict my caffeine and alcohol.
- I should eat more fish than beef each week. Even canned tuna is a great source of protein.
- I should take multi-vitamins on a daily basis.
- I should pre-plan and prepare my meals in advance. This will not only save me time but the temptation to eat something less health will be lessened.
- I should put eating right and exercise above less healthy activities like watching TV and napping.
- I should set a small step goal for myself each day and strive to complete it.
- I should not make excuses for my bad behaviors.
- I should not tell myself that I can cheat today because I will do better tomorrow.
- I should not allow the behaviors of others to dictate my behaviors and emotions.
- I should not allow myself to forget how much I hate being fat and out of shape.
- I should not think that just because I have made some gains in my journey that I am at my destination, because I am not.
- I should not forget that I have diabetes which can still kill me.
- I should not be impatient with my progress. It took me years to get this big, it may take years to get smaller and stay that way.
- I should not equate my success with the success of others.
Inspiration of the Day
Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them - every day begin the task anew. - Saint Francis de Sales, 1567-1622
Recipe of the Day
First of all, concerning the recipes that I post from Recipezaar. When you go to the recipe link, make sure that you read thru the reviews from those that have made the dish. Frequently you will see a pattern to the comments such as, add less sugar or add more spices. The recipes that are posted are a starting point. If the reviews say that it was perfect as stated, then give it a try. Otherwise, read the reviews and decide whether the writer has given you an idea about how to improve the recipe.
That being said, here is a recipe that you can tweak to meet (or meat) your own personal preferences for pizza but as a healthy alternative to standard recipes.

My small step for today is to get in a vigorous workout before I watch the Biggest Loser. For all you members, if you seem to be at a plateau or just plain stalled, in your weight loose journey, try doing some exercise and healthy eating for just ONE day. Once you have accomplished that, you can work on the following day. Losing weight is easier if you work at it today and do it One Step at a Time.
Happy Trails!

Okay now. Give it up for Lee! Girlfriend, did you ever see yourself at the top of the list? Now you know what it looks like you can forget all about the lower end of the list. You are on your way up! Chip told me that I would be happily surprised when I saw the results. What an understatement. I usually don't comment on the food photos but I am a huge fan of pizza. Yummo!
Thanks to Jennifer for always being so supportive of this blog. I always look for your comments.
I sure hope everyone had a chance to watch Biggest Loser tonight. It was the "make over" episode and boy was it amazing to see. Very emotional also. I am very glad that I started this journey and that I am sticking with it. I had a good hard workout tonight and when I got on the scale it read that I have lost almost all my Vegas weight. I am going to continue to pour it on hard this week because having to post that 0 today was embarassing.
Wheeee!! Thanks for the recognition guys! I am going to keep it up :D I'm back down to a point that I haven't seen in many years. Before starting this with Chip, I had lost about 15 lbs, but my enthusiasm was waning and bleu cheese was winning. Loved the Biggest Loser tonight. I have always enjoyed the makeover day! Love you guys!
